Custom watch dials

At some point I decided it was time to get rid of all the spare watch parts I got, and try to combine them to build some odd watches. Unfortunately, the most difficult part to find was the dial, partly because I simply can't stand the ones with fake chrono subdials, and partly because they hardly fit in my spare cases. So I decided to be creative, design my own dials and print them.

Here are some. Feel free to use them in your own watches, if you like. If so, I would appreciate a shot of your timepiece :)

Pocket

Inspired by a pocket watch, this dial has a quite clean look and it's aimed at dressy timepieces.

This is another dial with military taste. I tried to design something legible and a bit fancy.

Crest

This dial represents my family craft and was designed for a specif watch project. Although the project was aborted, this dials suits well any simple and dressy case.

Star

An homage to russian military dials. I used the basic black/white/red colors combination to have the maximum contrast effect on a very clean and minimal design.

Decoration

A more decoration oriented dial I design for a fake chronograph watch. I simply cannot stand those decorative subdials, so I decided to do it my way. This one features a Japanese crest at 6, 9 and 12 o'clock.

Shield

This one was an experiment with decorations... I put a little one at twelve and ended up with another military looking dial. Since the overall design is simple and clean, it should be nice with any full color background.

Hours

More a joke than a real dial, this one was created to visually track my working hours at a glance.

Military

Another dial of military inspiration. I tried to keep it clean, but also added visibile hour markers.

Roman

This is a quite specific dial I created for a watch which has white and yellow minute markers etched on the bezel. Fits best with white hands, which create a nice high contrast effect.

Simple

A really simple dial heavily inspired by Mondaine watches. It looks nice with a white background but it's suitable for more colorful variations.

Variations

Diver

This dial was designed with a diver style watch in mind. It is a bit details heavy and some colourful variations might be a little flashy.
